10 Mil Mylar

33 posts in this topic

I'm sorry, but 775 Mylite 2s and 750 halfbacks are perfection for my silver age collection - easy in and out, big enough not to squeeze, small enough for very little if any shifting:

linky

p.s. you guys that ship out silver age books in those oversized golden age mylar/board combos should stop it, as the books get whipped all around to the point of damage...., :sorry:

That's...sad.

They don't even mention you get a "sample" like that...how lame.

Then again, I guess that is why they call it a sample.

But still..

You kinda think it was going to be small since they also added, "Or just send us a #10 self-addressed stamped envelope to the address below."

Well, with that pointed out...you have a point.

Still...how many people are actually going to catch that?

Does anyone buy toploaders or what was previously called turtle shells? I have a permanent order for them at my LCS. Every once in a while he locates a few.

We have them in stock here http://www.hotflips.com/index.php?cPath=5_17

Is that what you are looking for??

Jeff

The guys at HOTFLIPS are so easy to work with and very helpful. I just bought some books, mylites and full backs over the phone. (thumbs u

Jeff, are you guys going to do any shows on the west coast...say Seattle?

What is this, 1986? I wouldn't know what a #10 envelope looked like if you shoved the world's best bookmark protector in it. Hell, I'm lucky I know what a stamp looks like.

Not sure how many saw this announcement today.

10 Mil Thick Mylar

I'm interested in the claim that you may not need a backing board in these. But, at 10 mil, they may be a little tight.

Anyone see one in person yet? Would you buy it?

Got my free sample in the mail today.

If the point of this product is to avoid the need to buy back boards, then this product is a total failure. I would not use a 10 mil Mylar to store a book I cared about without a back board. It is nowhere near rigid enough to prevent spine stresses.
