Mystery in Space 63. Goofy alien and weapon, nice Infantino cityscape.

 

 

Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos 63. Sort of a muddy cover, if you ask me.

 

 

Superboy 63. The earlier copy looked nicer.

It's amazing how Heath already looks like Heath. It feels like he came out whole cloth with his own style established unlike some other artists, say, Gene Colan who experimented and who took a while to get into his "groove". Even though I know I am exaggerating a bit since Heath started working for Atlas late 1948 and this is mid 1950 work, so not quite as early as I thought. Still, very impressive.

I didn't have the time to shoot as many #63 as I'd like so this is just all "DC" titles today (what else.. ). There's 16 of them. And I still haven't gone thru all of them......Probably gonna be some repeats....

 

I'll start out with one of my favorite Bronze era anthology sets. Do not recall showing any of these...I just finished shooting all 85 issues of this cool series last night.....

That is a great bronze age cover - and I don't remember many 30 cent covers I liked. I don't remember even stumbling across this one. A very nice hidden gem Seadevils.
