2008/09 Grading Contest: Round 13 Results

I know one thing for sure after participating in this grading contest. You sure as hell can't go by the Overstreet grading guide for any assistance. I've seen 9.6's in here that were 9.2's/9.4's in the guide and vice-versa. :P

You see Mike. You have to throw logic out the window. And then sacrifice a chicken and drip its blood in a circle with ground up bones, while chanting. And the grade appears in a cloud of blue smoke.

At least thats how I think CGC does it. I just guess and come within 1.0/.5 off.

I said 9.4 this round, pondered 9.6 then thought "what if it gets a 9.2?" Safety net..

Ditto.

I figured that little top corner nick might keep it from a 9.6. Plus there appeared to be a bottom corner nick on the FC lower spine corner. But it could've been anything.

It was the CB scratch on the FC right Edge that had me a bit stumped. There is one obvious one right near the chain. Then what appears to be another one{?} @ the chain. I figured the FC ULC was a production flaw. But the FC LLC looked more like a handling issue.. I've cleaned and re adjusted my monitor. Plus I'm going to clean my glasses when the scan for the next round is posted... I know I've said it a few times now. But... Thanks for putting this Grading contest together Nik... It's fun no matter where I finish in the poll.... (thumbs u

You should get Mr. Borock to send in a grade to you on the remaining book's. Keep the grades private until the contest is over. Then let us know how he made out.. That would be a interesting experiment.. ^^

Obviously, the problem runs deeper than that . . .
