Wizard Ace Editions w/ Acetate Covers...Signature placement?

3 posts in this topic

The Wizard Ace Editions (among other books) have Acetate cover overlays. If you're unfamiliar, it's usually mostly clear with a partial image on it that fits into the image from the following page. I've got a few questions:

1) Is the Acetate overlay considered the cover for grading purposes, or do they consider the image underneath which lends itself to the cover art? Or do that do some sort of composite or double grading like with double covers?

2) Do sharpies adhere to the overlay well when an artist signs the acetate?

3) Would anything be affected from a grading standpoint if the artist signed under the acetate, but the signature is still seen on through the clear cover? I guess I'm asking if it counts as a cover sig or an interior sig.

4) Anybody have any experience with these that could recommend where to get the book signed? Thanks!
