Finally a 9.8! Care to guess the price?

I guess it was just a matter of time.

 

Any guesses on the price? Somewhere between stupid money and really stupid money?

I can't wait to see what the hammer price is.

It would bring alot more without that date stamp. Personally, I would rather have a 9.6 without it.

This is where CGC's grades don't make sense.

 

They slab a book so the ONLY thing you can look at is the cover, yet they give a 9.8 grade to something that looks like this?

It really wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so smudged, but its position and the horrible strike just makes it look really bad.

Just checked. This is from the Rocky Mountain pedigree collection, which has been getting a lot of attention with the high-end books that came out for sale.

 

Someone on here used to purchase Richie Rich comics and other such titles and stated these were THE BEST EXAMPLES he had ever received of these books.

 

That may be the reason for the 9.8 grade.

Obviously, but for this off-stamped book to set any sales record, it will be to a Registry 'ho or a newbie spec. I think the Big Boys will steer clear and wait for a pristine one to hit the market.

Isn't that the first one with only 1960's-up books in it to get a Pedigree? Why that, and not the Cleveland or many other SA OO-collections that came up pre and post-CGC?

Avengers 57 might be my favorite book right now. I love the Vision. I've really warmed-up to date stamps over the past couple of years. I collect HG BA Key Marvel slabs. But the premium this book will garner is way too high to have to look at the advertisement for comiclink on the face of the case each time I were to go to admire my comic.

Very beautiful book. The date stamp just turns me off. Even if it was the front or back. If it was the back, would Comiclink disclose it? Because they sure didn't disclose it with it on the front (which I understand because you can see it).
