The Innocuous WonderCon Report

Finally, here are the boxes from Lee’s Comics. Lee, you are a genius. Those labels you put on the mylars make it VERY easy to look through your boxes. I didn’t have to pull the comics, worry about the mylar bending, or skip anything. I demand that all dealers use this labeling system by SDCC, or else.

I did meet up with a few board members for lunch. At 11:30, I showed up at the House of Comics booth as did Batman Fan, Seank and Socratic Wonder. Before heading over to lunch, a quick pic of Sean at the CGC booth. hm where is Ali’s hand?

And now for my pick-ups.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) for me, I’m maintaining focus, so my buying of comics was very minimal. I purchased this Four Color from Ray Storch. The Flash Comics #5 I purchased last year, but I had Matt Nelsen do some restoration. So, I picked up today.

For my kids, I found this interesting book, Howtoons. It looked interested. It was a kids science how-to book (such as build a submarine out of soda bottles), but in comic book format. I also grabbed some Richie Rich digests. I forgot to take a picture of a few other comics, most notably among those were The Super Scary Monsters.

I recently became hooked on The Walking Dead. I’m reading the trades and I’m up to number 5. They didn’t have this one at the Image booth so I went over to Comic Relief. They didn’t have it either. But, they did go to the store and bring me back a copy. And, number 6 as well. I am thankful for getting both. Number 5 finished with a cliffhanger so I just jumped right into number 6 and finished it before the plane landed.

While I was sitting in the Worldwide comics booth, this guy came and tried to sell Steve these two books. He turned them down, so I bought them cheap. The year is 1889. They aren’t comics, just text with illustrations, but I thought they were interesting.
