HeroesCon NC...June 19-21....

1,791 posts in this topic

Okay guys....I'm thinking of going to Heroes, only because it might be my only summer "diversion" and my last chance to go to an out-of-state Con for a while (my wife is pregnant with our first, and life will probably not be the same next year... :P ). Plus, It'll be nice to meet Nik and some other Forumites for the first time....

Assuming I decide to go, I won't be able to hitch a ride with my CFP pals (I think their ride is full).

- So, do I drive? (its about 9-10 hours...which is nothing for me).

- Do I fly?

- What hotels should I look at that are close to the convention center?

- How much $$$ should I bring for this show?

Sway me. Talk me into it. Give me some ideas y'all.... hm

i would drive personally but thats me. You wont need a car once you get there as EVERYTHING is located within walking distance.

The two hotels directly next to the con are the westin and hilton. Both are at 99 bucks for the con rate. Very good price for such upscale places.

Im bringing about 700 bucks now for this show. Doubt ill spend it all.

drive -- its what all the cool kids are doing (thumbs u

i booked the Omni , just a couple blocks down from the convention center , on priceline for $64 i believe it was -- but all the downtown 4 star hotels are all close to the Con (thumbs u

depending on what your usual budget for a convention is i would take just a bit more , it never hurts - or if you`re looking for a specific book then whatever your budget for that book would be + a bit more for other purchases (thumbs u ,

myself i picked up 3 bags of aluminum cans this morning before work and got another $2 for my con fund :jokealert:

George,

If I was going by myself I would either fly or take the train.

I am leaving Lynn Haven, FL about noon Wednesday, driving to Atlanta, picking up Ciorac, eating dinner and finding a little hotel to crash in... getting up Thursday early, drive into Charlotte, unload, set up, hit hotel, drink heavily (coke zeros, that is)...the con is Fri...
