Any other canadians have trouble with this kind of MO?

Two banks told me they can't cash them.

 

Canada Post told me they can't cash them but said the bank should be able too.

 

Anyone have any experience with these.

I thought USPS M.O. is a no-no in Canada.

I have one just like it in my wallet for $75. I will try cashing it tomorrow. Looks like the banks are owned by Paypal.

I went to both CIBC and a Credit union with no luck today.

 

I was told at CIBC that they are not set up for international MO's and it would just be bounced back.

 

Another question if this USPS MO is not viable in Canada what type of MO would work?

If there's a Wal-Mart in your area, they sell M.O. from Moneygram. Maybe it could work store-to-store in terms of cashing it. I'm not sure, might want to ask about it.

 

I was just looking this up and your m.o. is good in Canada. It might be that the banks don't want the reimbursement fees slapped on them.

The International M.O. from the USPS is just as good as cash. I don't know why the banks won't touch it.

 

Otherwise, the bank manager would have to explain it to you per the website I gave the link here.

Well I'm on a first name basis with the banking staff including the manager and was told that their system was not set up to take a international MO.

I think there is another USPS money order that will work in Canada. I have seen some auctions that warn about getting the pink ones. However, I could be wrong.
