I think paypal is 35 cents PLUS 3.9%

ebay starting fee for a 99 cent auction is what? 35 cents?

ending fee ?

yeah I would have been upset. With that kind luck I bet the buyer wanted to do a pickup !

Well, eBay just isn't a place to make money anymore. Sure, if you want to dump something at a loss, then maybe it's okay. But to actually MAKE a profit? Nah, not really.

Unless you happen to be selling STOLEN items.... then you might make a profit, maybe.

Lost ya there. Does this seller sell stolen pages?

Oh no, nothing like that. Just making the point that the only way to make money on eBay today, is if you didn't pay anything for what you are selling. It's just a bit of a joke pointing out that stolen materials is one way to do that. ;)

I have no idea if this seller does any such thing. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough.

Ahh gotcha. Well even if stolen he might have lost money on this one.

If Scott Eaton was at a show, he would easily sell that page for $30 - $40. Yes, it's Prof. X but someone would buy it. At a total cost of ownership at $20, I think the buyer got a good deal.

I feel bad for the seller since his time to pack and ship the art is certainly worth more than $1.

Cheers!
