damn...thats alot o' printings!

how difficult is it to obtain a #1 first? i may finally have an opportunity to buy a comic for the lady as a bday present and get away with it hm

I paid $65 for a CGC 9.4 copy. I really want to get a JV SS book done, so I probably paid a premium but I don't care. Now I just need him to show up somewhere.

lol

It's a cool, funny, and overall VERY DARK work. I enjoyed JTHM quite a bit as a teenager. Definitely speaks to the social angst you feel during that time.

Also interesting is that Jhonen, of course, went on to create the much more light-hearted Zim the Invader.

It's too bad he stopped doing Zim (and pretty much everything else) :(

Anyone know of a current artist that has a similar style?

I love this series, finally got my hands on a issue #1, 1st printing, had taken me ages to find out what to look out for to ensure it was a 1st printing as it doesn't say inside. Going to get that & Lenore #1 slabbed. If you like this stuff then try Lenore, that is downright spit beer through your nose funny.

There is another comic, I think it is called, 'I Feel Sick'. or quite a funny one called 'Bear'. The cat in that is one weird dude.

You do read some strange stuff John!

10 years after this post was created, I have something to add.

I have JTHM: Director's Cut Hardcover I bought brand new off the shelf, still in the original plastic wrap.

Amazon has this book mostly used but a few "New". So, what is it worth? And what would it be worth CGC graded above 9.5, today?
