I am thinking of possibly trying to collect every issue of Marvel and DC Comics from the year I was born 1977....

 

Is there a way to get a list of those books?

 

Advise on how to start such an endevor?

 

I cannot help you with DC, but if you have the Gerber Marvel set, you can get all the dates and numbers you need for most of the Marvels. IE. Defenders #43-54

You used to be able to do this on the Grand Comics Database, but their advanced search hasn't worked for months. Keep checking back, I guess...
