Eminem IS the NEW Punisher!!!

Marvel and DC have jumped on the bandwagon, and they did so about 5 years ago. When I was working at Hot Topic back in the day, we started selling urban/hip hop clothing with Superman, Batman, Captain America, and Spiderman. Spiderman and Batman were the biggest hits. This trend is nothing new, but it's still hilarious to see Eminem dressed up as the Punisher, especially with those "I'M GONNA RAPE YOU" eyes.

 

I never did get that...thug dudes with Captain America shirts.

 

It's weird because the majority of people who play Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 are thug dudes. Last time I was in NYC, there was some Puerto Rican guy with a Wolverine basketball jersey, one black glove, and a high-top fade mashing buttons in the arcade.

 

Eminem, no matter how cheesy he is, was a really good battle rapper.

That tattoo is a portrait of Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade, with some roses around her. It also has the words "Bonnie & Clyde", which was also a song on The Slim Shady LP, and which was also dedicated to his daugther.

 

 

 

Hmmm...A song about murdering his daughter's mother, and coaxing the toddler daughter into assisting with the deed. And that's the song he dedicates to Hailie? Gee, what a man.

A few of my customers, even though they are stereotypically thugs, are pretty well versed in comics, so for many of them they weren't buying the stuff because it was cool. They bought the stuff because they are comic book fans.

The starburst on the cover mentions an exclusive Punisher comic insert... Anyone seen it yet? Is it a standard Punisher comic or a special issue??
