Heritage Auction Question......

I know I saw this mentioned before but couldn't locate where I saw it.

 

Recently won an auction at Heritage and paid promptly. Was looking at the prices realized the next day and noticed a link next to my winning bid that mentions that you could make a higher offer to the owner for the piece. Not all the finished auctions had this link.

 

Does this mean, if someone wanted to, they could offer more to the owner (even after I had already paid) and thus have me lose the page?

Got the same thing on comics. I believe if you are active on heritage the items you BOUGHT show this. If someone makes an offer, Heritage will make YOU an offer, and work on another comission.

Correct. I think it was a smart move on their part. Allows them to broker previously sold pieces without the need for publishing a big catalog and keep their overhead low.
