On the second page were the ink is so faded a scan would be worthless...

Spider-man

21-25 $12.00@

39,40 $10.00@

121,122 $15.00@

125-150 $2.00@!!!!!!!!!!!! 129 for $2 893whatthe.gif

Is that a misprint or wasn't it a key in 1985? confused.gif

Grades are:

VG or better for the older ones (?Silver)

This was still during the first issue phase.Silver Surfer #1 used to sell at about the same or more than FF48 and JLA #1 used to book above BB #28.

But lets not forget just who was selling these books either. I'm not sure I'd care to have many of Chuckles VGs in my collection after seeing what his VF/NMs look like.

I remember those prices since I lived here in Denver and used to talk to Chuck alot just to stay abreast of what was happening in the comic world. (The world according to Chuck) They sure brings back memories..

I didn't buy the hulk 181s at his Nm prices for 20 bucks because the data I had showed they were only worth 15 dollars and Chuck was charging to much. . No way was going to pay above market value. I did get a killed a few years later when I had to pay 45 dollars to Chuck for NM 181s which were double the 85 prices.

Thanks for you cool post.

My memories are worse from the 70s.

I would get my 20cent and 25cent comics at the comic shop and tell my mother/grandfather/(whoever the adult was I was with) to buy me the old ones, like that Amazing Fantasy 15 for $100 (It was a VF/VF+ or so) that was hanging on the wall. "They would be worth big money someday..." I would say.

They would say it was foolish to spend $100 on a stupid comic book... tonofbricks.gif
