Transformers Gen 1 Vol I & II

Has anyone read these series and are they worth picking up???

 

I loved the 80s cartoon.

G1 started out well with great art and the story was building itself nicely for the first few issues and then the story just fizzled. The art remained solid, but the writing just went south.

I agree with Tim (btw - check ing on prices for the SF foils...)- excellent assessment. The story was not enough to keep me buying it monthly with all the variant covers to boot...
