It is, without a doubt, the most convoluted, strange, erratic, amazingly brilliant series ever produced.

People think Watchmen is great...?

Watchmen's got NOTHIN' on Miracleman.

NOTHIN.

AMEN BROTHER! :headbang:TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN!

Wrong. Watchmen is untainted by Chuck  Austen.

Enjoying the discussion. ND is actually my local shop.

On the subject of variants... What's the info on the Spanish version's of MM? Anyone own any copies? Are they hard to come by?

Good question. Do the spanish version's have differant covers?

I know this is an old thread but I can't seem to find an answer to this - was there ever a blue foil edition for miracleman #17?

I don't know for sure, but from re-reading this, it seems like there is not...

I'd also have to agree with RMA about the Qualified status of these things... seems very silly to me for CGC to consider them variants and worthy of a blue slab.

And I am an expert.

There are plenty of variants that aren't done by the actual publisher - the Jay Company variants, the Dynamic Forces variants, the ones put out by individual retailers (Larry's Comics, Beachbum with his GFT variant, the Infinity & Beyond Walking Dead #85 variant, etc), not to mention a slew of convention-specific variants as well.

true, but they are are variants that have some input from the publisher no? like having to order so many or something like that. i dont know, im just guessing. its surprising to me that a store can just make its own variant.

To me, because these are "after-market" modifications to the books, they should be green labeled. I don't think it matters a ton, but for consistency's sake they should be.

I respectfully disagree - as far as I'm concerned, there's no difference between what ND did with the Miracleman books and what's been going on with the various store-specific Walking Dead variants; they're all after-market modifications, done by companies not affiliated with the publisher. But, yeah, doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme of things - they're neat books no matter what color slab in which they end up.

How does Jetpack do theirs? Do they put the stamps on themselves? If so, then these may be more like Jetpacks which get blue labels. Definitely they are different from Larry's. Larry doesn't do anything to them; they come from the printer with the variant "notation."
