kimik
It will be interesting to see if it gets the asking price with the LT-OW LOD (LTLOD instead of PLOD now?).

hockey&comicsguy
Btw, i pressed three books last night Tim and thought about you on all three Whatever floats your boat, Arex. Like spewing vitriol floats yours Tim No Arex, the thing you fail to understand is I don't enjoy protesting against pressing. I'd just as soon not have to do it. In contrast, you guys genuinely seem to enjoy pressing books, and seem to enjoy it even more because you know it upsets a group of collectors. A couple of things. 1. I still don't own a Showcase 22 so that pretty much blows. 2. For somebody who doesn't enjoy protesting against pressing, you could have fooled me. A simple look at your post history would contradict your claim. 3. Not to call Arex a liar but I highly doubt pressers press books to annoy anyone, particularly you. That might be an ancillary benefit for some as Arex jests. But I think it a bit self absorbed to think pressers press just to annoy you or those who are like minded. They press to improve the look of a book or to re sell it for hopefully more money than they have in it. It's not a big mystery nor is it that mischievous in its goals. showcase22gr1959
"Happy New Year!!! " to all the Showcase 22 members and contributors to this club. Showcase 22 had a tremendous price appreciations and awareness in 2009, It's amazing to see all the copies in all grade being absorbed almost instantly if priced right. SC22 is setting up great for 2010. I see a 10-25% growth for this year and a bigger increase in 2011, so if one wants to own it for his or her collection...now is the time to buy. I see fewer and fewer submissions to CGC this year compare to the growth we had the last year. Also, this year, I see very few high grades (6.0+), and especially any copies above 7.0 being subbed..The only copy above 6.0 in the market place is the Mound City upgrade 8.5 copy and let's see what this former 8.0 will sell for. Nonetheless, "Will there be a 9.2 that will surface?" Good luck everyone and may you live long and prosper! Sanj Mitra
HI guys I just joined this club....well dipped a toe compared to the majority of the guys on the thread. I picked up a low grade copy which looks like a 2.0-3.0 (if I am lucky) this morning off ebay at 6 am. Based on the picture cover has nice gloss and it apparently has cream pages. Biggest issue is that there is a significant spine split that someone tried to fix with tape. Thought it was worth a gamble as there was a Buy it Now price of $275. Plan will be to grade up over time but at least I have a starting point at a reasonable price point. Cheers Sanj

kimik
That is who they chose for Carol Ferris? Wow, I am out of the loop on that I guess. She is sort of an it girl right now, and not bad looking, but isn't being a brunette a pre-requisite for that role?

I think Hollywood's ability to change an actress' hair color is the least of the concerns. True enough, but when you are used to seeing an actress/celebrity with one hair color and they change it for a role something seems out of place. That being said, weren't there any hot brunette actresses that could have played the role instead?

showcase22gr1959
What would a low grade cgc 2.0 go for? A graded CGC 2.0 crm/ow sold on Comic Link for $825.00 on 1/09/10. Thanks, I wonder if it will go for a grand in a year? That recent sale of $825 for a 2.0 is a record price. There's a good possibility that a 2.0 may reach 1K before the GL movie.
