I wonder how much more I would have had to bid for it to have made a difference, since I have no clue as to what his maximum bid was. Lord knows how long I'll have to wait for another such opportunity to come along because that was just about the best 4.5 copy around within my price range (or at least for what I'm willing to pay for this issue). From what I've seen going around, anything 5.0+ goes far beyond that in price. Chances are I might have to settle for a lower grade with Cr-OW pages. Oh well. I should've been more aggressive in my bid given the OW/W PQ, and have known better that this book's popularity is independent of any "after-movie hype" (Looking at the latest box office figures, GL is still a money-loser globally, let alone domestically). Anyway, I'm glad to know that a fellow Canuck won this. It's a bummer though how our loonie has fallen in the currency exchange rate against the greenback in just the last few weeks from it's four-year high, eh? As for the cross-boarder fees. If you've ever bought online from U.S./ overseas sellers before, be aware that whatever dollar value is declared on the Customs Declaration Form, you'll have to pay the 5% federal GST plus the postal handling fee (lately $8.50 per parcel, not per item).
