ACTORS WHO FIT THE ROLE TO PLAY SUPER HEROES?

There is no way any studio was going to let someone like Nathan Fillion open a funny book movie, and I'm actually surprised that a mid-level guy like Reynolds is getting a shot.

Oh, I know. Definitely not a big enough name that they would make the leap.

I am surprised they didn't choose someone more mainstream for such a big production.

Jason Statham could play every superhero ever and I would never find him boring or tiresome. :cloud9:

JC said the same exact thing. What's with that?

Almost every movie hes in is over the top action, ect. He does his own stunts, and he's really hot. I'll only assume that JC would agree with me on that. :insane:

I mean, look at him!

He needs to work on his legs.

Don't know if Ryan Reynolds is mid level any more.

He's gaining popularity and he's a personal fave of mine.

I know I know I've said it before,

And from all of you I've heard it some more,

He ain't big enough, bad enough or smart enough.

Regardless in Troy he looked pretty tough.

So to me Brad Pitt would make the best Thor.

I would have liked the choice of Alexander Skarsgard who currently stars in the HBO series "True Blood" as the vampire sheriff. Supposedly, he was on the short list of choices for Thor.

I'm hoping they choose Emile Hirsch over Shia LaBeouf for the role of Yorick. I've heard rumors of both.

It's funny - These two are always up for the same roles, and while Emile Hirsch is a better actor, better looking, more charisma, etc. than Shia, but he just makes TERRIBLE career choices, like he's one of those self-sabotaging guys who doesn't want to be too successful.

I can remember watching Project Greenlight way back when, and they were intent on getting Hirsch for the lead, but he said no, and lost out on a TON of PR - so in walks Shia, gets the role and is exposed to a national audience, not to mention half the creative community who's tuned in.

And it's been the same story ever since then, so you can bet on Shia for the lead, with Hirsch dropping out to star in the direct-to-video Speed Racer sequel.

He looks to me as if he's becoming the new Ben Affleck. :gossip:

Not even close, and Reynolds has been a bit player in all his funny book movies, and even a co-star in many of his recent ones. I can't think of a single big-budget tentpole that he's headlined....

But that could all change, and he would enter Ben Affleck-circa 1998-2004 territory, IF both the Green Lantern and Deadpool movies make bank.

Personally speaking, I find him kind of goofy-likeable, in a rom-com or pure comedy kind of way, and I think that's where his future lies. But it's a real stretch to have him leading a $200 million funny book franchise.

I think I'm the only person who enjoyed that movie. It was just as goofy and silly as the cartoon.
