Original Color Guides yes or no??

Hi Catwoman_Fan, Many Thanks for your compliments and for your post!

Thank you to all the participants & collectors of yesterdays auction and contributing to its success. We greatly appreciate you all!

Yesterdays cover sale of the Joker CG #1 marked a high point in sales for us thus far, and though an anomaly "clearly" states the collectibility of color guides and the value a growing number of collectors place in them. Through the few months starting in February of this year 2009 that we have been operating we have had the pleasure of selling to this ever growing collector base with over 500 cover and interior pieces sold thus far from Tatjana Wood's collection.

Though debated by many I have always believed that these pieces will begin to appreciate in value over the coming years and hopefully attain a new respect. After all color is a valuable dimension to art and comics and here on these one of a kind pieces is where those decisions were made and are permanently fixed in the history of comics just as the OA is.

Like all original art much of the value is in the eye of the beholder and what a collector is willing to spend on any given piece auctions realize a huge spectrum of finishing prices as do our BIN sales. For those of you who are interested I've posted the finishing auction prices in the CG auction thread:
