DC's 75th Anniversary

89 posts in this topic

I know I haven't posted on here for a long long time, but.........

February 2010 is only five months away.

It's the 75th anniversary of DC Comics.

Are they planning to do ANYTHING AT ALL about it.

If they don't, or if they leave it later in the year, it would be a disgrace.

But five months is such a short time and I have heard nothing whatosever yet.

I am sure they are planning on printing a bunch of comics which they hope will sell through a retail outlet near you, and you, and you.

I'm sure they will acknowledge the date with some sort of promotion designed to shift more units.

What would you suggest they do to avoid being 'disgraced'? (shrug)

Hi Ian,

Are you still keeping the collection current?

Yes totally, and the variant covers and ultimate editions are crippling. It's now costing £1000 a month ($1650) just to keep up. It's a thankless task.

At least they started Adventure Comics with 504 as well as number 1.

Ian,

Just stop at 2010. If it's become a thankless task then maybe it's an obsession. Saying "I have every DC comic till 2010" is amazing.

If he can't stop I'm sure there is a cure for it.

I know they have been having artists (such as Mike Zeck and John Beatty) digitally recreating over 100 of the classic DC covers for the anniversary. They are not sure how DC will be using them though.
