Rare, desirable and classic 1930s pulps for sale PRICE REDUCTION

33 posts in this topic

I've decided to part with a few pulps from my collection. The Horror Stories are file copies, from the Sam Moskowitz collection. They were purchased by Jim Payette from Sotheby's, and I bought them from Jim. The first is the #3 issue from March 1935. It is a VF copy that I have to admit is quite stunning. Pages are creamy with a hint of light edge tanning (1/4 to 1/2 inch or so.) $750 for the #3: REDUCED TO $650

The second pulp for sale is the October 1935 issue, with its memorable cover. It is a Fine-VF copy with similar PQ to the #3. This is the copy that was used in Tony Goodstone's 1970 book, "The Pulps" - Goodstone photographed from Moskowitz's collection for his book and Moskowitz was credited as such. $550. REDUCED TO $475. The third is truly a classic of the 1930s " weird menace" genre. August 1937 issue of Dime Mystery. This copy is NOT a file copy. It's a VG+ - looking copy, but has about 2" of page tan-browning edges, where the paper is a bit fragile. But, the page edges are square and not chipping, and the pulp can be handled (I read it) without damaging the pages. $300 REDUCED TO $250
