Do you all think that people 20 years down the line are going to go tothemarketdownthestreetforsomeCRAZY over a variant versus a comics story or character? 893naughty-thumb.gif

I just bought a MINT venom 1 black online and the guy shipped it to me without a board. A corner got bent in the shipping. What kind of [!@#%^&^] ships a comic that expensive w/o a board? I am anxious to see how badly I get screwed by CGC because of the guy's ineptness.

Why get it slabbed?

More $$$ slabbed

Bloodshot plat info. Someone had a CGC 9.8. FYI -

Well Im sure valiantman has the insider stuff on this, whats his pager number again??

I doubt if the "$800" Bloodshot 0 Platinum Error will make or break the market...

With 25 copies (or less) in existence, it will most likely remain quiet in

"permanent" collections for long periods of time...

If I was going to spend $800 on modern books,

I'd first buy one of each of the pre-Unity Valiant books in solid NM condition...

and at the current going rates on Ebay, you could get all 52 books for about $500.

I'd have still have $300 to spend... So I'd probably just start over with the

earliest Valiant books in the order they were released and buy another

copy of those early books until my money ran out. grin.gif

I know that's what I'd do because that's what I already did...

That's how I started my Valiant collection on Ebay back in 1997. thumbsup2.gif

And who was it who said you were a one trick pony? tongue.gif

The Collector Rules:

1. "Stick with what you know"

2. "Just buy what you like"

Lucky for me, those are both the same thing! grin.gif

How many of you guys have 13 different Gen 13 #1 (Vol 2) covers??

hi.gif slabbed or unslabbed? tongue.gif

Well, I'm sure you make up the money you lost there with some super-ultra-rare variant, limited to ONLY 10,000, published yesterday, slabbed today.

what lost money? Man, you just make assumptions about me left and right and fall dead wrong flat on your face every time foreheadslap.gif I got my Gen 13 copies a long time ago in a bulk lot pick up of Gen 13? I've sold off slabbed copies all day long back in 2000? My cousin is a huge Gen 13 fan and has gotten plenty of his readers from me as I have made my profit on the lot and have no other use for the rest of the books. lost money, indeed smirk.gif

Have a problem with what I sell and promote much? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif Is it the bane of the comic industry that's going to bring it all crashing down?

Just got here... Did I miss anything?

Skimming it, I think it was another variation of "What I collect is cool, what you collect is stupid."

Seems like a popular topic... Shouldn't we have a separate forum for that? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif
