Different means different, surely. If they just had 30000 in stock, why not say 'We have 30000 DC' ? Possibly they have 29500 all different and still don't have Ian's missing books.

 

 

There are just over thirty thousand different DCs.

He specifically says the word DIFFERENT.

If you look at their site, you'll see they have no stock at all on any DC title virtually pre 1960.

Therefore they CAN'T have thirty thousand DIFFERENT DCs.

End of story.......................

Actually, I think you probably hit the nail on the head there. He probably did some computer search and every grade for every comic made a hit.

 

Mile High has different entries for CGC'd books and for their raw books. They also differentiate for variants and for the Dallas Stephens collection... so they're probably using a different counting (and grading) scheme...
