Im actually glad i started this thread as ive found all the points raised very interesting and informative. It was never just supposed to be about just a 'Price Guide' but an open discussion on why it would/wouldnt work and if anyone had a an opinion on what would be a better idea. I think most seasoned art collectors have a good ballpark figure on what certain pieces are worth but for the new collectors it would be helpful if something were to be produced just to educate them and not see them get ripped off by paying thousands of dollars for something worth hundreds.

Just want to make sure you are aware of the "market data" that is available through CAF ?

I just assumed you know, but want to make sure you have seen it.
