PGM: Fantastic Four 48

Issue presents very well but a small micro tear front cover middle of the book (between the words greatest comic), and back cover has impact crease or rip. Also, does staple placement affect the grade?

Staple placement shouldn't affect the grade in this instance. But if that's a stain on the top right corner of the BC, it won't grade any higher than an 8.0, IMO. Otherwise it looks like a 9.4ish book to me.

If stain or tear I cannot see this book going any higher than 5.0/5.5.

 

Based off the FC alone it looks like a solid 8.5 due to thumb crease top edge.

You are basing this soley on the visual appeal of the book. CGC does not grade that way. They assign a technical grade and CGC hammers stains and tears.

Exactly, Joey is right. CGC is murder on stains, even tiny ones.

Its a tear and there is no stain.

based on the front cover it looks like an 8.5/9.0 even with that micro tear,but with the large tear in back will kill the grade 5.5/6.0
