Figured I should mention that the Spiegelman anthology did come out and it's full of very well-chosen Golden Age stories, with some silver too.

 

Thanks to everyone who contributed--I know Art was very appreciative and some boardies are thanked in the credits page.

 

Also, the book is darn cheap right now via Amazon, under $26 for a huge hardcover and that qualifies for free shipping.

 

It's the Toon Treasury of Classic Children's Comics and easily found just by searching under Spiegelman in the books category.
