I thought I bid way high on this

I wanted THIS book, and thought I had bid sufficiently high by bidding twelve bucks. Are these 3D books selling this high regularly or is this out of the ordinary?

Grumble grumble, It would have made a nice addition to my collection, but I am not paying THAT much for it. I thought 12 bucks was a sure thing.

I have some nice books, but I am quite sure there are better collections out there. Not that Red Sonja is a highly sought after title, but that is why I can get high grade books for waaaay cheap. One of my CGC 9.8's I only paid 25 bucks for, I was thrilled.

Hehe, I have Conan 24, first full Red Sonja, but that is the only one. I have a lot of title singles, like a single Adventure Comics, A single Action Comics, A single World's Finest, A single Flash etc. The only real run I collect is the 1st run of Red Sonja. I have the movie on video and thought the 3D comic would be a nice addition but the people bidding against me might be crazy and I don't wanna bid as high as they are obviously willing to go.

By the way, has anyone here heard of Ghita of Alizarr? Frank Thorne did the art. I ordered the two part story, but now I think it is like comic porn or something. I heard it was done by Thorne and that the Heroine was very Red Sonja like.

 

Soooo of course I went on a frenzy looking to find it, found it, ordered it immediately (because of course looking around and doing a little research to see what exactly it was, would have been out of the question. Gotta have it now) and after ordering it, looked around and it looks like some kind of artsy porn or something. No wonder it was so hard to find. Comic porno was NOT what I had in mind when I ordered it, and it is going to be interesting to explain it to my wife, if that is in fact what it is.

The 3-D comics are pretty hard to find because you just never see them offered. I had a bear of a time getting the three Star Wars 3-D issues a few year's back. They were almost as hard as finding decent copies of the Ewoks series.

By the way, has anyone here heard of Ghita of Alizarr?

 

I own both of the Catalan volumes published in 1985 as well as the complete one-volume version that was released about a year ago.

 

The series has quite a bit of topless nudity, including the four-breasted Dakini... but I would hardly call it porn. It is a tale for adults, that includes some adult activity, but Frank Thorne's art in the series is amazing. Thorne made some interesting comparisons between Sonja and Ghita in interviews, suggesting that Ghita allowed him to do things he always wanted to do with Red Sonja but never could.

 

It's not something you should be taking to the local elementary school, but I doubt you will be disappointed either.

Cool, Thanks lighthouse. I used BIN on This because the images looked pretty tame. I am really looking forward to getting it. I do love Frank Thornes work, and I am sure I will love it when it arrives.
