While I don't participate in any "illegal trimming" with the aforementioned LCS, I will say that he is not involving himself in this for any "financial gain." He runs a shop that sells ONLY new stuff from Diamond, no back issues whatsoever. Furthermore, as proof that he isn't in this business to profit from activities such as trimming, he sells variants at cover price --- ALWAYS. To put that in perspective, I bought a Captain America: Reborn #2D of 5 - Joe Quesada 70th Anniversary Frame Cover (worth $75) for $4 from him - well, less than that because I'm a subscriber so they take off 15% as well. He is part of the Marvel Retailer Incentive program, so this month when the Dark Reign: The List One-Shots are distributed, I'll be getting copies of the Wolverine and Spider-Man 1 in 100 variants as well as the Green Goblin 1 in 200 variant, all for cover price! Doesn't sound much like anything wrong is going on there.......

I'm not in the business of selling comics anyways. First, I don't have enough to do so. Second, the ones I need to get rid of currently are to trade up for something better - currently I need to trade out my Frank Miller Wolverine LS #1 8.5 and 9.2 to get a 9.6. I have two copies of the Dark Reign: The List Wolverine that arrived slightly damaged and I'm selling them at a decent amount under the $70 value. I found 3 copies of both Wolverine: Weapon X #1 and The Marvels Project #1 Sketch Variants at fairly decent prices and want to sell of 2 of each to those who haven't been able to get their hands on them - I refuse to be accused of "scamming" because I'm trying to make a quick buck.... trust me, I have enough going on in my life to make money off of, this is JUST a hobby for me and I love it enough to want to remain involved for the rest of my life!

Regardless of how you or your LCS buddy "spin" trimming, it is the comic collector equivalent to killing baby seals with baseball bats.

With that discussion fully underway, you do need to get a recommendation from your LCS with regard to the pressing equipment you should buy.

He suggested a few things when offering up the ability to help - grab a sharp razor blade and making the edges real sharp and clean, on each page if necessary, trying to pull out any light bends by working the pages, etc

Gav, maybe you can send that down the LCS this guy was talking about, it should be good for pulling out light bends. :screwy: I mean, you would just be offering your ability to help.
