WW Toronto Comic Con, March 26-28, 2010, Direct Energy Centre

So what packages are people getting for this? There seem to be just a ton of them to choose from.

-Rob-

I called and spoke with someone at WW a few weeks ago and unless you are interested in the listed items with each package there is not really alot of advantage to the vip packages. You do get to enter before anyone else, but not much before.

Randy

Truly. But I do like "stuff" and some of those packages come with quite a bit of it. lol A couple even seem to come with X-Men OA, which is interesting as I don't recall receiving OA for any con package before. Although, I only have gone to a few in a few different cities, so it may be more commonplace than I realize.

I saw a banner for the 'con on Lakeshore by Exhibition Place yesterday too. For some reason, seeing it has kicked me into high convention-going gear.

RACE TO THE FINISH WITH DISNEY INTERACTIVE STUDIOS AT TORONTO COMIC CON Gamers looking forward to the release of “Split/Second” will be able to play a demo version of the Disney Interactive Studios racing video game at Toronto Comic Con, set for March 26-28 at the Direct Energy Centre. Disney will set up four gaming stations at its booth, which are free for all attendees. Set within the world of a hyper-competitive reality television show, “Split/Second” is an intense action-racing game where speed meets strategy in a made-for-TV city rigged for destruction.. Racing to the finish line takes on added excitement when competitors trigger destruction on the track to take out their opponents. Players must use strategy and pin-point timing to derail opponents, tactically alter the track or create entirely new routes, while vying to be the first across the finish line. “Split/Second” is scheduled for release on May 18.

:banana:NIGHT TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME AT TORONTO COMIC CON

The fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down at Toronto Comic Con this weekend at the Direct Energy Centre. Night programming keeps the party going with something for night owls Thursday through Saturday.

Thursday night kicks off the fun at 10 p.m. following the Microsoft Xbox Live Arcade Block Party launch party at Pop Nightclub, 217 Richmond St. West in Toronto. The celebration of Microsoft’s newest release immediately follows the official media event, so don't be surprised if a few celebrities and media personalities stick around after hours.

On Friday from 7-8 p.m., meet the members of the cast and crew from the SAW movies, including star Costas Mandylor ("Hoffman"), the beautiful Betsy Russell ("Jill" - Jigsaw's Wife), Dan Heffner (executive producer) and Jim Murray (prop master). The panel is moderated by SPACE personality Teddy Fry, and is a rare look inside the blockbuster horror series.

On Saturday night from 7-9 p.m., check out a screening of the feature film The Wild Hunt, which tells the story of Erik Magnusson, a young man who decides to follow his estranged girlfriend Evelyn into a medieval re-enactment game when he discovers that she has been seduced by one of the players. The modern medieval saga is shown courtesy of TVA Films and is free to all Toronto Comic Con attendees.

Finally, the party really gets going at The Official Wizard World Toronto Comic Con Saturday Night Party, from 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. at The Social, 1100 Queen St. West. You never know who may show up at the official party (but we already know that your favorite stars from SAW, Battlestar Galactica and Caprica, along with plenty of other Toronto Comic Con celebs will be there!) sponsored by Hero Initiative. There is a $15 cover at the door.

Toronto Comic Con runs from March 26-28, 2010 at the Direct Energy Centre. This major pop-culture convention brings together fans of comics, toys, collectibles and offers a chance to see actors, writers, artists that each industry has to offer.

I was on the fence on whether to get a hotel in TO for the night or not. Consider me "off" the fence and jumping headlong into Saturday night!
