I just don't think its that big of a key. The biggest character introduced in X-men 1 is a villain, and i think that keeps it down. I honestly can't see X-men #1 (no matter how hard it is to admit) ever catching up with AF#15. I disagree though that the biggest character it launched was Magneto Arguably Cyclops is a rather important character in the X universe and the team itself is bigger than any x-character, except maybe Wolverine. The problem with X-men #1 is that most people just don't care enough about it, as they do Spiderman. Spiderman is spiderman and the X-men just isn't spiderman.
