I think Gators $317K bid on the Action #1 (most expensive comic at auction up until that point) was pretty impressive.

 

I spent $25K on my Marvel #9 that I bought from Gator when he was ramping up for that auction.

 

I still feel bad about duping him out of that book.

I've spent $500+ on a few books:

 

Showcase 22 5.0

BB 28 4.0

FF 12 5.5

Strange Adventures 1 5.0

 

Some day I'll have to bust through the $1,000 ceiling to get a Showcase 4, and I do want to complete my FF run someday, and I don't have an FF 1. But for now I seem to have trouble going much over $500.

I spent almost $4k for an 8.0 MP Green Lantern #1. And it was a steal.

 

In trade I spent around $5500 for a 4.0 Human Torch #1.

 

I may need to sell both depending on the outcome of all these damn auctions this month though.

 

Come to think of it, I can't believe I have those books in the first place. I'm going to go look at them right now...
