How valuable is an issue of Uncanny X-men CGCed at 10.0?

12 posts in this topic

I'm in the process of purchasing a package deal from someone for about 8 or 9 books. In order to get some of the books I want, I also have to take a few that I don't know too much about. I have a choice between a Superman #100 in G/VG condition and an Uncanny X-men 316 (1st Generation X - with the foil strip) CGC graded at 10.0 Mint. I have a pretty good idea what the Superman is worth, but know nothing about modern comics.. Which would have the better resale value? If I were planning to keep the book I'd take the Superman 100, but either way I plan to resell whichever book I take to off-set some costs. Does anyone have any idea what an Uncanny X-men 316 CGC 10.0 would sell for? I know the book only guides at a few dollars but CGC 10.0s go for crazy prices sometimes, correct? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you're going to be selling the book either way...

You could really do a big "write-up" in an auction for the CGC 10.0.

Fact: Currently, there are 9,611 issues of Uncanny X-Men in CGC slabs.

Fact: Out of all of those, only 7 have been graded CGC 10.0.

Fact: That's less than 1 in 1,000...

Fact: 1,000 CGC slabs would cost at least $15,000...

Would you pay $15,000 to get a CGC 10.0 of Uncanny X-Men?

Not when you can buy this CGC 10.0... for only $XXX... if you act now! grin.gif
