Newbie question from the back of the room. What the deuce is `masking' ? (shrug)
converting banned words ... like carp instead of cr ...well, you know

 

Or circumventing the censor so that the words show up as intended.

 

I don't remember seeing him mask anything though, and he and I were going back and forth quite a bit.

 

Does anyone remember what John said?

John went off about how recent Comiclink auctions were doing and we got into a discussion about it.

 

I commented on how I didn't think it was a good time of the year to sell comics (income taxes coming up, X-mas bills being paid off, economy, too much supply...all factors converging) and John thought that everybody should have gotten their commissions refunded because lots of books sold under GPA.

 

Somewhere along the line Johnny probably threw in the odd masked word, but I can't remember right now.

 

His spelling and grammar are so bad, maybe he just did it accidentally....

actually is a mild insult along the lines of 'Frak' in the UK and not masking

 

from Wikipedia

 

Magners Irish Cider have received complaints relating to an advert in which a man tells bees to " off": members of the public were concerned that young children could be badly influenced by seeing this advert. Magners claimed that the " off" mention in the advert was a "mild rebuff" to the bees, rather than an expletive. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has ruled that the poster is suitable for display.

F'ing half the f'ing people in this f'ing thread should be f'ing banned if this f'ing forum is ran by f'ing admins who are f'ing fair in using the f'ing rules.

pfft. the admins can more then likely see any posts i have made including the

editing/deleting of them. That may have worried a less savvy forum user.

 

basically if the admins are fair... we should be seeing some strikes soon.

i am curious if they are biased or not is all.

 

i have a feeling the user we are discussing was tagged as a problem because of

what he said about comiclink and it really has nothing to do with defeating the

filters in place on this forum. that was an excuse i am guessing.
