Hi all,

 

I'm putting together an impromptu auction fundraiser to benefit my cousin Josh and his wife Cara. Their little daughter Isabella has some serious medical issues with her heart and they are struggling with some of the associated costs. I know times are tough. I also know this forum has been tapped pretty hard and pretty regularly with similar postings... so I want to keep this as unobtrusive and low-key as possible and keep it contained here.

I am offering up:

How this will work is I'm requiring a minimum donation of $10 to participate in Lots 1-4 (5 and up is optional). Donation to be sent directly to my cousin Josh's paypal account: jcoller@gmail.com (mark the payment "Izzy Auction"). If you want to send the contribution and not bid... that's quite all right too. The shipping of the books are included and the full amount of the winning bids will also be forwarded (or can be paid directly to) the cause. Just send the "participation donation" to the supplied addy above, then post a bid (in this thread) indicating which lot you are bidding on.

Wow... what generosity! This is going FAR better than I expected. These lots are not worth this much. I thought there would be $10 -$20 incremental bidding...slowly.

I might have to add something for others to bid on... this is already out of hand.

OSPG: Calls it "Blue Variant" 1 of 600. Guides at $800 in 9.2. [/font]

 

This copy is hard to grade. Structurally, I'd call it a solid 9.2 leaning strongly 9.4. However, it does have several production creases on the front cover (not visible in the scan) and more importantly some "foxing" or other unknown staining on the back cover. See scans. I don't believe CGC accepts these for grading in terms of officially recognizing and authenticating them. That said, FlyingDonut (Dan) told me a couple years back that there is indeed some demand/interest in them regardless, although not at guide values.
