Possible candidates for Captain America

82 posts in this topic

Casting for Marvel's Captain America feature, including screen tests, is underway, according to Deadline Hollywood. The list of candidates for the role of Cap includes John Krasinski (The Office), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Scott Porter (Caprica, Friday Night Lights), Mike Vogel (Cloverfield), Michael Cassidy (Smallville), and Patrick Flueger (The 4400).

Soooo...not really sure who the target market is for this movie but the above does not bode well.

His name eludes me at the moment, but I was thinking the guy from Human Target.

:golfclap: Actually you hit the nail on the head! He definitely looks the part and with all the fight scenes in Human Target I think he has the moves too! Just needs to bulk up a bit more.

IMHO Cap needs to played by a movie star. He needs to be someone with a lot of charisma, a true leader. I'm normally all for no names or widely unknowns playing roles in films such as these but I can't see how this would work with Captain America. I haven't gort anyone in mind but no one on that list strikes me as being proper candidates (shrug)

He certainly looks the part, I haven't seen Human Target so I can't comment on his acting ability or suitabilty for the role in any other way.

Oh boy. If Jim Halpert is going to be Captain America, than I will stay home and pretend the movie never existed. Just like I did with Wolverine and that last Punisher movie.

Dwight Schrute as Red Skull hm

:applause: Perfect.

As for Cap being played by a small name or big name actor; lesser known or mid-range actors would be my choice for the part.

Could someone post pics of these clowns? I don't watch tv & rarely go to the movies.

Depending on what audience you're after maybe even Chris Pine (Star Trek) or even Daniel Graig (Casino Royale) although I am not so sure about the latter.

IDK, they already have a foothold on their franchise roles.

Therein lies the problem and in all honesty the roles they play in their respective franchises, especialy Pine, are similar to the role of Cap. Although there is no real reason why the same actor could not play two iconic roles (shrug)

They all look very similar to me and off the same ilk, Don't like any of them in all honesty, it really does look like they are going down the smallville route.
