I love it when books get signed and still come back as 9.9's, it amazes me.

 

It does more than amaze me. I never EVER would have cracked 1 of my 9 ASM CGC 9.9s ranging from issue 166 through 297 hoping they would reobtain a yellow 9.9 and anyone who does unless they have an inside connect with CGC is a nut. lol

 

ASM# 255 CGC 9.9 I sold for $850 or $900usd I believe though it may have been 800.

 

Regardless a CGC 9.8 copy at the time was shooting for 35 to 40 bucks.

 

5 % of the 9.9s value and such a fraction of a grading difference, would you trust your gem going from the slab cracker 2 an artist, then back to cracker and on top of that travelling back 2 CGC HQ???

My personal opinion is that most of the SS CGC 9.9s we see are strong material covers or 9.8 slab cracks that got the straight resub upgrade.

 

Or lastly just a great raw book that one had in a mylar 4 quite some time.
