Chris Claremont Sig?

I bought this New Mutants Marvel Graphic Novel 4 from my LCS years ago. It's signed by Chris Claremont on the inside of the book. Looking at the sig and those I have from some yellow labels I have they do not look the same. Any thoughts? Is it legit? Fake?

It does look fake, BUT... He appears a lot so in my eyes, I can't see why somebody would forge his signature? I hope it's not a forge.

Sometimes people's signatures change over time. I do agree with you that it looks different than the current sig, which looks seizure-induced. Maybe an old-timer can identify this as his sig from the early 80's. It seems like a really silly thing to even try to fake, so i bet it is authentic.

It could be one of his early sigs,but I don't know for sure.

It looks odd and different from the sigs I have books he's signed recently but I wouldn't know for sure if its fake.

If nobody has the answer, I should be at a convention that he will be at in May, maybe I could print it out and show him?

I believe he changed his signature some time ago but I've seen others that look like that. I'd lean towards it being legit.
