Maybe FF was thinking we were talking about the 1st appearance of Supergirl? I can't think of any reason why the 1st Krypto would have special appeal to female collectors.

I agree that Action 252 and Lois 1 are probably the keys for the female collectors (who often aren't crazed enough to shell out Showcase 9 money ).

The late 80s/early 90s Superman story when Mr Mixwhatever brings Krypto to earth as a birthday present for an adult Superman is my favorite story from that era.

The look on Supes face when he realizes the imp sent his puppy back to Krypton to die was classic.

Its a pretty nice book, and tough to find at all, let alone in grade.
