Price Drop on Remainders: Mid-Grade Bronze Comics: Batman, JLA, New Gods, Caps

Batman 246 Neal Adams cover. "How Many Ways Can a Robin Die?" written by Frank Robbins. Irv Novick pencilled the majority of the story, but Dick Dillin handled the final chapter. The entire thing was inked by Dick Giordano, who blends the story together seamlessly.

This is another nice-looking book with a weird back cover defect that brings it down: On the back cover, right near the center, where the words "Fastest" and "Out a License" are printed, there is a puncture that looks for all the world like a bird clawed the comic. :insane: The puncture goes into the several final pages of the comic, but does not interfere with its readability. In addition, there is a 1/2" tear on the letters page, confined to the margin. So... call it VG or thereabouts $3

I realized my scanner bed needed a cleaning. The worst scan was the Detective 472, so I've rescanned that book and will add the corrected scan to that posting. Any other books anyone is interested in except for an odd-looking scan, just let me know and I'll rescan those as well.

Wonder Woman 196. I've often wondered if this over-the-top Dick Giordano bondage cover got editor Mike Sekowsky fired? Right after this issue, the book went in to reprints for a couple of issues, then Denny O'Neil became writer/editor with #199. hm

This copy is in Fine condition, with some very thin color breaking creases on the front and back covers. As well, there is a production wrinkle going through the width of the book, through the Wonder Woman logo. $10

The 30-page story of the death of Jonah Hex, "The Last Bounty Hunter," is written by Michael Fleisher and drawn by the great Russ Heath. In addition, there are backup stories featuring Scalphunter and Bat Lash. The Bat Lash story is written by his co-creator, Denny O'Neil.

Comic is in Very Good condition, with wear along the top edge as seen in the front cover scan. As well, there is a 3/4 inch tear from the left edge of the back cover, extending in to the Bat Lash back cover panel.

$20 SOLD via PM

Detective Comics 424 Michael Kaluta cover. "Double Cross-Fire" is written by Frank Robbins, with art by Bob Brown and Giordano. "Batgirl's Last Case" is a consequence of Barbara Gordon winning the election to Congress. The reprint hightlight is an Alex Toth Sierra Smith story. In Very Good condition: though this one presents nicely, in addition to the spine damage at the upper left corner, there is also what appears to be dried Elmers glue at several places on the back cover. (shrug) $4
