I can honestly say I don't watch hardcore porn but I do watch the AVN awards on Showtime the past few years. Porn parodies are all the rage. Every classic TV show is turning into a parody. Three's Company, Gilligan's Island, you name it. The companies that produce this stuff don't get sued because they are selling them as exactly what they are... Parodies.

Just because the owners of a trademark or a copyright don't have a financial incentive to sue doesn't mean they couldn't have. It is possible to create a parody like this that's legal, but it's very difficult to do it without infringing on trademarks. I certainly hope they have some expert intellectual property legal advice on the film, because if any company on earth is going to sue for something like this, Disney and Warner are precisely those companies--there's too much money surrounding the images of the characters in the film franchises.

If anyone has top notch legal advice, trust me it's the porn business.

You'd think porn couldn't afford that...is it just easy for them to get free legal advice because lawyers tend to be horny pervs? hm

You're joking right?

Cost for cost investment/return is HUGE in the porn industry especially for these parodies. The internet, VCR/VHS, DVD, etc. can all base their success on the adult industry.

As I said earlier, I don't watch hardcore but some of these titles have made me curious. They're doing exactly what they're meant to do which is bring in customers who don't typically watch adult films.

With the success of bigger budget movies like the Pirates ones they are looking at more and more ways of reaching an even bigger audience. Parodies are the answer to that.

Ask yourself... if you don't watch hardcore stuff the subject of this Batman XXX must seem remotely interesting. The parodies bring comedy, decent story lines and halfway decent acting to the films which sounds a heck of a lot more interesting than some gonzo slop fest.
