IMO it's a 9.0 at a glance. The corners have rounding and it looks a little dirty. That's given it being really flat and smooth with nice paper inside. In person if it really is cleaner than it looks, and the edges are really sharp, I could see that easily reaching a NM.

 

But that is rare, which is what it's all about, finding that really nice copy. Mine I haven't looked at in a while, but I'd bet mine doesn't have as nice of a spine as that appears to. You have to look at them really closely and that takes a bunch of time. That's my next project.

 

How do you describe it, in handling it and seeing the details? Regards,

I'd go with 8.0 ( or maybe 8.5) due to the accumulation of small spine stress lines and the two small spots of stain on the back cover near the left edge.
