Smith to direct 'Green Hornet' film

Comic-book connoisseur Kevin Smith will write and direct the latest incarnation of The Green Hornet for Miramax Films and hopes to have a -script by summer. Smith, who has written Daredevil for Marvel Comics and Green Arrow for DC Comics, promises to be true to the original while adding twists. Hornet is perhaps best known in its 1966 TV version, which introduced American audiences to Bruce Lee, as Kato. Smith, meanwhile, will appear as himself on CBS' Yes Dear, airing March 22.

The movie budget probably could not afford Jet Li as he asked for a huge salary to be in Matrix 2 & 3. Try Ray Park (X-men/Toad, Iron Fist movie?) as Kato.

The funny thing is that Kevin Smith has often said that he wouldn;t do a comic film because it's so tough and time consuming setting up shots for an action scene. He gave an interview in Wizard when Daredevil was coming out....

 

it's great that he changed his mind, but I wish he was doing something more mainstream....

I seen a short part of this movie on ACCESS HOLLYWOOD. Clooney was the hornet.
