Question about Thor:

 

I know sometimes when the hammer is drawn, it can be depicted with the "Whoever wields this hammer . . . ." text. Is that writing always on the hammer and just never drawn, or does it appear when it's being lifted or something else?

It is my understanding that according to the Norse Mythology, the inscription is written on the hammer itself.
