I find it amusing that a pencil mark lowers the grade yet when something is drawn over it it miraculously becomes a 9.8 again. I suppose its their way of making double the grading fee because no other explanation would make sense

That is exactly how I have been feeling. It makes sense and it works because I have a few 9.0s that look way to amazing to be left at that grade when I know I can bring them up by having the back sketched.
