is that a tear on the upper staple on the back cover? the front is a beauty that I can give a 9.0 no problem but that tear on the back might knock the book to 8.0

Yes, afraid so.

 

That small 3/8" tear at the top staple will drop the book to a 7.0. No way would I be happy buying it at 8.0 with the tear.
