DC's Golden Age Heroes in the Silver Age

4 posts in this topic

Captain America's first Silver Age appearance was well received- Cap would go on to lead the Avengers and share Tales of Suspense with "Shellhead." Sub-Mariner would eventually get his own book with Marvel's expansion in 1968. The Torch would succeed as part of the Fantastic Four and for share some time with Dr. Strange in Strange Tales.

But what about DC's Golden Age re-intros?

The Golden Age Flash?

Alan Scott? The Spectre? The Justice Society?

Why didn't DC's Golden Age Greats experience successes similar to Marvel's?

Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman were still going by the time the Silver Age came around. Batman received the biggest update of the three in 1964 when Julius Schwartz took over editng Batman and Detective. However, it was updated heroes like Green Lantern, Flash, and introduction of the Justice League of America that shined during this era.
