I've had some PMs that I've finally had a chance to take a look at, but wanted to post the answer here...

 

The cover is firmly attached... I asked the same question myself when I bought it, but then had the opportunity to take it out and flip through it, and it's attached.

 

Second question was whether I'd deduct from the price the re slabbing fee, and the answer is yes, I would do that for someone if they paid by check and not paypal.
