Science Fiction, Horror and Fantasy Writer RAY BRADBURY will appear in person at the LOS ANGELES COMIC BOOK AND SCIENCE FICTION CONVENTION on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2010. RAY BRADBURY is the author of such classics as THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN, FAHRENHEIT 451, and SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES. Twenty seven of RAY BRADBURY'S classic stories were adapted in such 1950's EC Comics as TALES FROM THE CRYPT and WEIRD SCIENCE.

 

RAY BRADBURY will be appearing from 12:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. to sign the DVD, CD, and POSTER of the new Movie RAY BRADBURY'S CHRYSALIS with cast members Glen Vaughan, Corey Landis, Elina Madison, Darren Kendrick, Larry Dirk, Producer Roger Lay, Jr., Composer Brandon Moore, and Creature Effects Designer Lee Romaire. RAY BRADBURY'S CHRYSALIS DVD, POSTER, and CD will be available for purchase at the show, and there is no charge for an autograph and RAY will also sign other items. RAY will be 90 years old this year and his appearance depends on his health at the time of the show, so check the website during the week of the Convention for any updates.

 

The LOS ANGELES COMIC BOOK AND SCIENCE FICTION CONVENTION has served area collectors for 33 years. Comic Book Greats such as JOE SHUSTER, STAN LEE, BOB KANE, JACK KIRBY, DON HECK, DOUG WILDEY, JOHN ROMITA, JR., MICHAEL KALUTA, JIM STERANKO, DAVE STEVENS, TODD MCFARLANE, DAVE BERG, AL FELDSTEIN, and many more have been featured Guests. Admission has always been $8.00 or less when all these Guests were featured including Guests like ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, CHRISTIAN BALE, JESSICA BIEL, KATE BECKINSALE, JACKIE CHAN, KEANU REEVES, JACKIE CHAN, JET LI, and many more. And Dealer Table rates have always been more than reasonable, having just increased this year by $20.00 to $105.00 after holding the same $85.00 rate for twelve years!

 

So support your local show that's always been fairly priced to Collectors and Dealers. If you have Comic Books for sale, you have a better chance to make money here. If you're looking for Comic Books to buy, you have a better chance to walk away with a deal. You might not find a Detective Comics#27 or Action Comics#1, but there's plenty of variety of Comic Books at reasonable rates.

 

While it's still early in the sign up of Dealers, so far there are several new Comic Book Dealers signing up for the SEPTEMBER 19, 2010 Convention. Also, more Guests might be added during the next few weeks.

Ray Bradbury is unable to make this show. From the website:

 

"RAY BRADBURY will not be able to attend due to his poor health. RAY made several appearances to celebrate his 90th birthday during August and this exhausted him to the point of his not being to make this appearance as he recuperates."

 

However, Daniel Logan and Todd Bridges (Yes, Willis is coming to the Shrine) have been added to the show, and the cast/crew of Chrysalis are still coming to show and sign for people...

 

I am gathering all sorts of quarter books, dollar books/magazines, and trades (50-75% off) to bring to this show, so see you all there!
