That is me chasing that book. I think i am single handedly responsible for raising the price of asm's in 8 and 8.5 over the past while as i try to get one for my run. With 10 seconds left the book was at 21000 and a but in a snipe for 26755 so i lost by not even a full bid. Same with the heritage auction earlier this month i lost the 8.5 by a half bid (i think that is what heritage calls it) and it went for 28860 including juice. There are 4 copies out there at 7.5 right now all asking about 14000 and they are not selling. Wish I could be satisfied with one of them.

I perused the Spideys to see if the screaming deals were continuing, but I'm seeing bupkus to cherry-pick in what has been a deflationary period up to this point.

You aren't looking hard enough. :insane:

WUDYA SEE WUDYA SEE?

I sold a couple of Spideys at near all-time GPA lows.....Yippee!! :ohnoez:

I got priced out on the ASM 13 9.0. My cap bid was going to be $2222...and it moved to $2550 (new GPA high) about 5 min out...was prepared to pay (slightly) new GPA high but, what can I say, I'm a cheap bastid... :tonofbricks: Shoulda bought Andre's 9.2, woulda had it paid off by now...interesting that the 9.0 went for $2550 and the 9.2 only $3600...

I was considering the ASM 20 9.2 but for the price didn't care for the hand-written date mark in logo...

I should've hit on the ASM 19 9.4...went for a steal at $1087... doh!

Also was considering the 18 9.2 but I sold mine within the last year for $1200 so I wasn't going to pay more than that...Also the 21 and 22 9.4s but only if I would've gotten a steal-deal...

So I settled for a PQ upgrade and picked up the ASM 37 White-pager so far at a reasonable $317...so I have my undercopy for sale...

So I'm heading over to the FF group tomorrow...and then there's always the JIMs...

So as they say in Bidgard...this auction ain't over yet...

ASM #19 9.4 sold for $1525

And the 13 in 9.2 went for $4400,

Sincerely,

a sad underbidder

Just keep chasing without going overboard...there are PLENTY of high-grade Spidey #1s to be had, you get several chances per year. I didn't get my copy until last year after having watched it pass for almost a decade. The book doesn't jump exponentially like the major Marvel keys since it's really a #2 issue, time isn't usually your enemy on that issue, at least not as much as it often has been on the other keys.

Agree completely. I am already streching what I feel the price should be on a 8.5. In my mind it is about a 24-25K book in 8.5 and a 18-20K in 8.0. It really is not that rare of a book.

Well, I lost out on several of the Spidey books in the last minutes: the #13 in 9.2/9.0, the #15 in 9.2, and the #17 9.2. I finally settled on the #41 in 9.2 and while I paid a bit more than I had originally planned (was almost outbid at the end of that as well); my bid held up and I got it for $1285!

My gosh, I sold a raw 9.4 last year that graded out a CGC 9.6 White for the buyer for only $1600.

Aquaman #6 for $1700. Damn!

I obviously was not the winner, or even anywhere in the running.

i picked up the aquaman #19 and the atom #2- roughly 30% below last sales (that i could find). probably 30% higher than what they sold for before the squishing

I think the 13 in 9.0 and the 15 in 9.2 were old-label books that fetched a premium. hm
